New volcano

Story of the day: When I was at the reception I explained to a Brittish couple how to get to Santa Cruz by bus, where the bus stop is, how frequent the bus is and how much it costs. Afterwards they turned to my colleague and said: "Keep him, he's a keeper". In the morning there was a bit more work at the hotel, but in the afternoon it was a bit more relaxed. That's why they just made origami's and exchanged them. The rest of us went on another excursion or more of a hike to the volcano. We got picked up at 8 in the morning from the main station at Santa Cruz. Then we had to pick up a few more guests on the way to the Cumbre Vieja volcano. We drove for around half an hour. We walked to the vantage point near the volcanos ridge. The walk lasted for around an hour and a half. We had to walk on defined paths because if not, you could be fined 3.000€. The fine can even come up to 30.000€, if you walk too close to the volcano. When we were near the volcano, we could also faintly smell sulfur (rotten eggs smell) coming from the volcano. Our next stop was a small sea-side town called Puerto, where we had a coffee break. After the break, we drove to the port to see the flow of the cooled lava from the cliffs into the sea. Afterwards we drove along the hardened lava, where we could see destroyed building and banana plantations. Our last stop was another vantage point from where we were able to see another angle of the crater.
